What is something you would like the blog readers to know about you that they wouldn’t know by just looking at you?

I love to cook! I think cooking has a special way of bringing people together, and there is no better feeling than sharing a meal you made with someone you love. I particularly like making different types of soups and pastas!

What is one thing that you are most anticipating about your study abroad experience?

I am very excited to see the beauty that Australia has to offer! I am particularly excited to see the ocean and spend some time in the stunning water. There are so many hidden gems that are just waiting to be discovered, from the Pink Salt Lake (where the water is actually pink) to the 12 Apostles!

Why did you decide to study abroad? or What inspired you to study abroad?

I wanted to study abroad to get out of my comfort zone; I want to challenge myself in a new and exciting way, and Australia was the answer. By going abroad, I hope to make more meaningful connections with locals in a way that I would not be able to otherwise. Spending four months on the other side of the globe can be scary, but experiencing the beauty that the world has to offer can be even more so.

This picture was also taken in Japan, specifically at a nice sushi dinner with my family! From left to right: My brother (Christian), me, my mom (Mina), and my step-dad (Brian)!

What is something you would like the blog readers to know about you that they wouldn’t know by just looking at you?

I enjoy the tranquility of being off my phone and the idea of not just seeing new things but hearing them. I love the sounds and smells of new places that can enhance an experience.

What is one thing that you are most anticipating about your study abroad experience?

I am excited to immerse myself in a new culture as well as being able to explore a new place on my own. While I love hanging out with new people. I want to challenge myself to create memories that i Will remember forever with or without people I know.

Why did you decide to study abroad? or What inspired you to study abroad?

I put a lot of capital and respect to the idea of being well-travelled and a ‘global citizen’. I feel that DU gives me a great opportunity to pursue this idea. I have also travelled often with family and friends, so I want to see the differences that study abroad will have compared to travelling around Europe with friends.

My friends playing Spikeball in Budapest.
