Time to focus!

Hello DU Study Abroad Blog,

This week, we began our second course in this program which is International Development. In this second period, we shall be learning about International Development in the sectors that we find most interesting. I chose the Human Rights sect and the other sects are Architecture, Business, and even Health. Majority of the students were interested in the Human Rights and Health sect. There was one student who took on the Architecture sect. For this first week, we have spent a week attending seminars about International Development in general altogether as students in the program. A lot of information to consume.

Best,

Namugga Nakayiza

Maejo University in Thailand

Hello DU Study Abroad Blog,

This week, we visited our host university which gave us a rundown on Agriculture and Sustainability at the school and in Northern Thailand. We learned about the school’s involvement in its local community and the national community. The university is very big on the concepts of Agro-Tourism, Sustainability, and the Preservation of Culture. After this three-day field study, we started our second village stay. I am currently in an indigenous village where we have been granted the opportunity to ask about issues faced by indigenous communities. We have also been given another Independent Field Research Project, so we shall be using this opportunity to learn about things we are interested in relating to our sects (Human Rights) and International Development. We shall be here for only 2 days.
