“…my host mother, Bintou,  is convinced that I am going to marry a nice Senegalese girl, or maybe 4 (because up to 4 wives is legal here) and settle down here in Dakar. She is constantly telling me that there is no reason for me to go back to the United States. Quote from my mother, ‘Baboukar, you are Senegalese now, you must find a Senegalese wife. Besides the women here are much prettier here than in the US!’  She wants me to call my American mother and tell her that I will be staying in Senegal longer.”
