I am a first-generation college student as well as a Colorado native!

What is one thing that you are most anticipating about your study abroad experience?

I am the youngest child and am very close with my parents, so this experience will give me a newfound form of independence I have yet to know. I am excited to learn to be in my own company and begin to feel comfortable doing things alone. I am also excited to meet new people and form friendships I never would have from the comfort of my home.

Why did you decide to study abroad? or What inspired you to study abroad?

Ever since I applied to DU, I knew I wanted to study abroad, and I knew it had to be in Scotland. I have always had a fascination with the country. It has been my dream to visit Scotland one day for as long as I can remember, so there was never a doubt in my mind. DU has made the process very simple since the first time I heard about studying abroad, so I felt this was simply an opportunity I couldn’t pass up on.
